There are two Scranton magnets seen here on the refrigerator. One is for Steamtown (with the train). Below, you can see the second magnet says "Lackawanna Wonderful". That's the slogan for Lackawanna county (or was, I don't think they use it anymore).

Steamtown Marathon

In "The Meeting", Jim mentions that Michael handed out Jello shots at the Steamtown Marathon. The Steamtown Marathon is actually coming up in about 2 weeks. So, good timing by the writers of the office. The race goes all throughout Northeastern PA, and through many towns mentioned in the office. It's also at a great time to see the fall foliage!

Office Corn Maze!

Such a cool thing! There is a place just outside of Scranton that has a corn maze each fall. Located in Clarks Summit, Miller's Orchards Farm Market has previously featured Obama vs. McCain, and this year, they steal my heart by featuring "Scranton's Office Rivals". So freaking exciting. For 6.50 to 8.50, you can walk though the 7 acre maze, go on a hay ride, pick pumpkins, take a pony ride, do the haunted corn maze at night and much, much more! Pam: "Yeah, I think the pregnancy really brought us together."

Andy: "I have been having trouble focusing lately, I'm in this weird, flirty, nebulous thing with this cousin of mine and it's a total mind f-er."

Okay, I know, this quick glimpse of Meredith shaving her armpits in the office bathroom isn't a quote, but it's fabulous still.

Office Rewind: Episode "Stress Relief" - Wegman's

Wegman's is a supermarket with stores mostly in the tri-state area (not anywhere near Hollywood). We have one in Dickson City. In this scene, there is a Wegman's brand cereal (Fruitful Morning to be exact) in the background on the fridge. Wegman's is pretty nice. They specialize in more exotic foods. Whenever there is an ingredient you can't find anywhere else, you know to go to Wegman's!

I know it was a few days ago, but I just want to say felicitaciones to Oscar Nunez for his Alma Award win for Best Comedy Actor.
So far tonight, The Office has one award for Best Writer of a Comedy Series, for the episode "Stress Relief".
Unfortunately, Rainn and Steve did not win... but we love them anyway!

Tinks

In "Gossip", the office has 3 interns, and they went out on a group date to Tinks. And apparently Stanley was there also, with his "wife" (she was out of town). Michael describes it as a "club for young people". Pretty accurate, Michael!

Michael (to Stanley about being in the club): "It was those interns, they told me that they saw you at the club and they all said it was you, this is clearly racial profiling gossip."

Ah yes, the Tinks Entertainment Complex. Tinks is a club located in Scranton, and is typically for the young croud. They feature many under 21 nights and they are currently remodeling. It's the place to be if you're looking for drinks and dancing (grinding!).

Angela's dating an 81 year old billionairre. (wish it were true)

Pam's pregnant. (also true, accidentally)

Kelly is an anorexic, or in Michael's words, an anorexitic. (so not believable)

Andy is gay. (he doesn't even know the truth)

Erin isn't a good worker. (I guess she is??

Oscar is the voice of the taco bell dog. (I'm surprised Michael didn't go the gay route, but instead, he went the racial profiling route)

Toby is a virgin. (as he says, he has a daughter, poor Toby)

There is another person inside of Kevin, working him with controls. (by far my favorite rumor)

Dwight uses store-bought manure. (I find it funny that Michael thought people would care, and that Dwight is so hurt by the accusation)

That Michael (or Jim) is a J. Crew model. (the only positive rumor)

Hey! Welcome to my new Office blog. I am writing this blog from the perspective of a Greater Scranton area resident. Don't think because I don't live in Scranton (I live 15 minutes outside of Scranton) that I can't bring a different perspective.
